CAT prep..it's on!!........really!!??

2 more days to CAT'08..exam which 2.83 lakh people from India will write with the aim of getting into IIMs..I am one among the lakhs. As expected I enrolled with an institute that prepares student for CAT...got my thing done(tuition) for 10 months and now D day is here to knock the door.
How am I doing..about CAT and life few days before that?Well I donot know..Just now I have quickly revised my concepts about 'How I met your mother'..watched movies for the past 2-3 days and googled a pretty lot of stuff. These are the things that suit nerds who have actually worked hard in final months of preparation and now need to do somethings to chill out. Then why am I doing these thing?I need to give exam in the most relaxed state of mind,I guess this is the reason.

I didnt do much for the prep thing neither my scores in the mock tests are high enough to raise any hope..but still it's the performance on the D day that matters..and I'm optimistic about it beacuse fortunes overturn that day...TRUE STORY.
I haven't written here for a long time now..almost a month. I have few posts lined up in draft..may be after CAT I'll post it.

I wanted to mention one thing..GOOGLE ROCKS!! it does and it will always rock..it makes it so easy for me and I guess for everybody in searching things.I found the actual episode I was looking for in seconds over GOOGLE than moving over 'pits' in the VCD with my 'rusted' CD lens..getting it?? What I meant was GOOGLE ROCKS buds!!
Njoy and readers---Pls wish me luck for this 16th and rest of life.
God bless ya

God I'm so bad at para jumbling...I know why :D

Generic Mums

"Mother of elections is just 2 days hence" is the 'breaking news' and the only news other than Kumble's retirement from test cricket, the whole lot of news shows are filled with.
The 'idea' is America being mother of everything,be it the missile or machines or most wanted terrorist Osama..[Obama against Osama, ha ha].Few instances of the mother U.S. are:

a) Americans(and U.S. of course) rule world economy. U.S. is the epicenter of every major economic changes taking place, once it goes down other feel the heat too, like we are and the rest of world is at this moment.

b) U.S. concieved(being 'mother') the terror man Osama.

c) Cluster bomb, 'mother of all bombs' is the one of the essential components of U.S. artillery.

that was th part with Obama and his U.S.A.  .
There is this 'generic mom' in our college too and also she is my panel member in project evaluation. They name her with this title as she uses 'bachche' a kid word quite frequently in class irrespective of year she teaches, I mean freshman or final year 'kids' . She's not above 30 but still 21-22 year adults are her 'bachche' .

These were few generic moms I have noticed recently.

A journey

I had plans to write about 'the journey' as soon as my milometer had hit phenomenal 25000 kilometers..but damn this laziness. It has kept me away from this page for long. Not even during my 12 days long vacation an idea ever popped to scribble on this share of mine on world wide web.
But 'things happen when they are suppossed to' ..so the 'journey' is happening now.
It's about my journey with the bike which became mine after a very long wait,on 16th Nov 2005.
Festive season was on and demand for bikes was at all time high so I had to book my bike weeks before the purchasing date.I enquired everyday if the bike was vaialable with the dealer..all I cared for was to get a bike..color and make was no concern.Ultimately it was delivered.
Since then my journey with the bike started..I have been continously using it for all my commuting purposes be it 200 mtrs or 200 kilometers.
I ate on it,slept on it and most certainly driven it on every pathetic and good roads possible in every part of NCR.Few 'journeys' are listed below:
Out of all experiences sleeping on it was most bizarre and fun part.It happened in the winters of 2006.I used to take bro for his exam..since my exams were already over I had ample of time to waste.I used to park my bike in the college parking and lie down on the seat using bag as a headrest over the milometer..initially it was bit uncomfortable but sunny afternoon and quite good novel didnt allow 'trouble' to register.Looking at the eagles flying overhead, gazing sky for hours and bird flying, all while lying down on the seat was a real fun!I used the 'comfy' for my afternoon power naps too.
I visited rather tried out many unknown paths just for the sake of experimenting and most of'em turned out to be nightmare both for bike and the rider.I was once travelling through routine path.A straight road at a crossing used to lead to some other part of Noida very close to Greater Noida.I was not aware of this fact then and out of curiousity I tried to take that road..thinking this would lead me to someplace..even if it didn't I had the option of retracing which I certainly would have not opted. While the road was quite good for few kilometers as it was yet to be put into 'use'.I got chased by dogs for disturbing their quite habitat.Soon the road ended and I landed up in some village in Noida.Road was awful and dusty and wide enough for one two-wheeler at a time.Village after vilage passed and I began to wonder how come my virtual 3D model about the whole path I used to take and the new experimental path I'm using is not leading to a correct destination. As the situation grew hopeless I decided to remain clinged to the path I had thought of and continued to move further. At few places bro and I had to lift the bike for some distance but ultimately we were back on proper road, that was a horrible journey but the whole experiment thing was fun.
There have been many many other awesome incidents that happened on bike..most of them I donot remember precisely. This idea of writing about whole 'journey' thing and dedicating a blog to it came only yesterday.I visited to Okhla industrial area twice yesterday and that visit deteriorated the already pathetic condition of bike..I feel sorry for it.Tch tch.
I used to take care of it.Used to get its srvicing done on time..but now!! I donot change even the engine oil..gearbox gets stuck..battery doesn't charge completely...brake shoe needs to be changed..a lot more is to be done....the journey can't end in 3 years..I'm getting it serviced tomorrow...my love you are going to 'rejuvenate' !!

Relaxed

I'm busy brushing up my concepts on all sorts of algorithm Genetic,Neural networks , Bayesian networks ...(and so on :) ) and practicing for all possible question they could ask in viva.Yet I'm relaxed because I'm listening to a song,an aubade which has least of words(which I could not understand, probably South Indian)and more of flute and good soul touching music.
It has happened quite a few times that I've downloaded some songs by mistake and they turned out to be most played items in music player.I have this thought while listening, studying, hopping...

Best lies all around me,
I just be random in selecting and I might end up with the best (all days are not same though).
Stochastic model could be more refined version of it. Ohh!! I must get back to viva preparation I forgot what stochastic model is!! :(

Good morning.

Good day bad day

Good day bad day
all in the same day.
I worked up till 6 am this morning which means I didn't sleep for whole night yesterday, wow!!
This was the first time I had ever 'worked' till morning.Last time the record was 5 am,that time work involved chatting. But this time work was real work.I had to prepare report for the Mid term project viva. Basically I had to write the summary of all the research papers I've read and then draw a graphical representation suggesting some correlation between them.I had bulk of those research papers and I was most confident of making a very good report out of it.I certainly forgot to notice one thing that 'too much of a thing does no good,it adds to confusion, for there are too many choices' .,that is what exactly happened last night.I had tough time selecting the paper and then reading it,aargh!! I had read quite a few but I didn't perform the job systematically therefore by the time I started to summarize them I had forgotten almost everything I had read.I had trouble big time finding exactly where exactly which item was.Being too systematic in putting papers in various folders only incremented the confusion.
Before getting on to job I did some awkward chit chat and then fianally started workin at 1 am.The task involved 2 activities
a) to make the report
b)to make the presentation
I worked 5 hours to get the report job done, though it was kinda vague. I went to bed at 6 to catch some nap. That was actually a fun part.I remember I was laughing in initial 15 mins while tossing over bed,but why was I laughing? I had no idea.I guess I was too tired to remember anything. It was as if someone was telling jokes.Whatever,I could only manage the report part in whole night, that too obscure.I tried to reach college as early as possible because presentation was suppose to be held at 11:30 am .As I reached the college I quickly began the job.2.5 hours were quite less for the remaining job which of course had sub tasks.I had to get the approval on the presentation(which was not even made) from my project mentor,I had to get the printout of the (vague)report and arrange it in order and then prepare for the viva, most important being preparing PPT . clock showed 11:10, I had almost made the PPT,I was working on the last slide I guess, KAZZzzAM and the computer, out of the blue, went off . I smiled,I had to for I had been repeatedly humming this phrase for couple of weeks now 'anything that can possibly go wrong, will' and it did . I looked at the LEDs of monitor that went on and off making ****ing funny noise and I had no idea what to do.I took a 'long' slow walk to one of the panelist's cabin and stood outside for some time,I decided to come back and see if by mistake I has saved my work before this 'slap of fate on my face' happened.Thank you Microsoft!! I'm sorry for I had been cursing you every second while using any of your softwares or OS but you are lifesaver of this kid,Thank you again. I had temporary copy still saved and I didn't loose more than a slide, that was marvellous.By 11:30 presentation was 'complete' and I walked with some gained confidence towards the panelist's cabin.I neither got the PPT reviewed by my mentor nor I could get printout of the report. One of the panelist was not free at that time so my presentation has been postponed till Saturday. Now,at least I can make some consctructive modification in it.I really felt happy because
a) I had almost lost the thing but by God's grace and Microsoft's help my PPT was safe.
b) I got extra time to work on my prsentation and report.
Rest of the day was o.k. . One super bore visiting faculty took lecture of 2 hours. If rumours are to be believed he's our future H.O.D. .He has to take 2 more 2 hours session tomorrow and day following that .ATTENDENCE IS COMPULSARY in it. :(
On my way back, every red light was green light,I found none where I had to stop, that was the peculiar thing about good day!! I have just woke up from my 'power nap' and idea of writting the thing got into my head which was favoured by internet supply, which is gone now.I'll post it whenever it's there.
Ciao

He said it again.....

First of all, reaching this page was not as easy as I thought it would be.Reason being I changed my password for this thing few days back which I certainly forgot.I had been trying to log in with the wrong one for half an hour now,to ultimately reach to this page.God has been kind enough I have continuous net supply for this 1/2 hour ,rare phenomenon though!!
There is no dearth of topic on which things can be written at least till the time this ****ing-linguistic-biased-jackass is alive aka M.N.S. chief. What the hell is his name??I am as always, bad at remembering names(particularly of dorks) .I had planned to write about this yesterday, but there was no internet. Its been a boon rather because this 'dodo' has come with a point of his own about 'MARATHI ASMITA' (marathi pride) and threatened Mr. Bachchan and his family!! What does he think of himself??Things that he associate with pride are all pity things related to speaking Marathi and using it as the signboard language!!
It happened like this, lemme quote the best of what I remember. This is what Ma'am Jaya ji said in the music release of movie 'Drona' ,while handing over the mike to Priyanka Chopra(who made her Miss World??) , "Hum toh U.P. ke hain, isliye hum Hindi mein hi bolenge.Maharashtrians ko bura lag sakta hai" .What wrong did she say? Is it crime to speak in National language or the mother tongue, for that matter. If Mr. Thackrey (the junior, senior is too old to do anything) happens to be there in some part of U.P. or Bihar(for relief work, huh) which language will he speak? Marathi? Who will understand it? How many people in this world understand Marathi? Well according to a census it is the 3rd most spoken language in India, but it can't outnumber Hindi, never.so have some respect for the National language,if not for people speaking it.
It is good to fight for one's 'pride',one must. But being fanatic for no reason is mere insanity. And if one tries to impose it on others I see it no different from the forceful change of religion, practiced earlier. This was opposed by my,their(marathis') hero Shivaji .Will you oppose what your master did,Mr. Thackrey?
Give up this cheap politics,no one buys it,except for your handful good-for-nothing zealots.Try something constructive, polls are near.Buy my advice, bhaiya ji keh rahe hain. You might win
