Just another blog

I wanted, this August,to be more productive in terms of blog count. But as the month is nearing its end I do not think it would be possible. So this is one of my desperate attempt to increase this month's count by 1,at least. It is mainly about my ' experience(s) ' yesterday, when I got to travel by bus after a very long time. I had to go to a special school as part of research job for my project so I started late,Broda was in hurry thus he rode off with bike. I went to the school thinking that, that school is for children with Learning Disbility.Till the time I had met the principal there I had no idea what is the difference betweent a learning disabled kid and a intellectually disabled kid. That school was for intellectually disabled children. The nearest school I enquired where I could find learning disabled children, was no less than 15 kms away.I had no bike to travel and there was no straight bus to the place,I did not have any idea of location of school in that area either.Had I gone there by bus I would have definitely missed my meeting with project mentor.I decided not to go to the school and better meet project mentor.I had to change 2 buses to reach college, the journey was not that annoying but the fact that I had to walk to catch buses was troubling sometimes.I reached college and told my mentor about the 'research' I did . She didn't say anything but did ask me to find a suitable topic for my project. I had already thought of it, "S.P.I.M.E." , I said. The topic sound good, she asked to check if this name is not used by some other software. Later in the day I found a company that had the same name "Spime" . Ma'am asked to change the name and give the same name which I had proposed earlier "I.T.S.".That was all about interaction.
I had to do a important task which would not have been possible had I been to home early. So I decided to strech my stay in college.I started later than usual from the college at around 8 pm.Reaching Delhi was a cakewalk, but last 4-5 kilometers of journey were awful.I was standing at the bus stop,I didn't mind that beacuse completion of the task was still possible,as long as I was away from home. There was a couple troubled by waiting for the bus for long time, some that came didn't 'stop' , rather the lady was too fat/old to run and catch the bus.Ultimately they decided to hire an autorickshaw. Many people ran to catch buses that had slowed down beacuse of traffic but seeing the crowd chasing to catch the bus, driver maneuvered through traffic with very high speed.Life-on-toe was the scene where a little mistake by a person would have definitely resulted in an accident.Waiting had started to trouble me now,so I gave a call to bro and asked him to come and pick me up.Sometimes later a bus arrived and I decided to catch it,I found a seat too.The space was too small for the fanny.I managed though,I had to.Getting down was far more toubling than adjusting 'big over small' .I missed my stop and I had to walk back,"blessing in disguise,it could be" was the thought. I was sauntering and picked up the longest route possible to increase the travelling time.....beacuse the task was still possible!! but it didn't happen :( and I reached my place.
Traveling by bus was o.k.

B.P.O. stories

I had about an hour long talk with my friend Akhil working in a B.P.O. .He had many stories to tell and to begin with there is this sher:

jise sharab pi jaye usse sharabi kehte hain.
jo sharab pi jaye usse Punjabbi kehte hain .

This is one such among many that I got to hear and no prize for guessing I had to hold my stomach because of fits of laughter. The sher happened like this. My friend's trainer gave the exercise to him and his colleagues about telling their name and one thing about themselves that others didn't know about.
Everybody did so. When my friend's turn came,he told something which none had expected him to say and he thus told that he has recently started a habit of diary writing. The sher happened after this, there was another guy whose name I don't remember, but the secret he uttered was that,he has decided to quit drinking. Then the trainer enquired about his drinking habit the 'drinker' replied,”I drink 3-4 times a month” ,to which trainer replied,”I drink 3-4 times in a week and I don't call myself a drinker, you for drinking 3-4 times a month call yourself bloody drinker”.
There was a sardar listening to this and he asked.
Sardar: ”Sirji, fir sharabi kisse kehte hain?
Trainer: “Sharabi usse kehte hain jisse sharab pi jaati hai”.
Some other guy asked “ Fir jo sharab pita hai usse kya kehte hain?”
Sardar then came up with the line of the day, words of wisdom or call it a masterpiece, whatever.

jise sharab pi jaye usse sharabi kehte hain.
jo sharab ko pi jaye usse Punjabi kehte hain.

There is a Bihari guy among them and he uses a (abusive)word with which I'm acquainted but that was new to Akhil. Akhil told me just one of the Bihari's statements and the way he said it made it funnier.
Abe saale tum toh humko chutiya bana diye,********” .

There is this irritating girl working in his office and if Akhil's words are to be believed she is of one such nature I seriously do not like in girls. Anyways, she was with the Akhil's team for they had combined training session. She had previously worked with 'Convergys' (I'm not sure about the spelling, pls chk)
and always talks about her life there, obviously leaving everybody irritated .She asked trainer one day.
Girl : “Sir kya HCL mein humein training k liye bahar bhejte hain?”
Trainer : “Nahi,HCL mein aisa nahi hota
Girl : “But,Sir Convergys mein toh humein bhejte the.
Then trainer asked if there was any particular 'process' being followed there. Obvious reply was “Nahi pata.” .Other guy said,“Tabhi toh tujhe wahan se nikaal diya” .

There was one really hilarious zip kissing event among the boys,I don't remember it at this moment.
A request to Akhil...”Daal dena who incident comments mein yaad se

These are a few excerpts of the actual conversation,I'm planning to start a new blog with Akhil as a partner wherein we can add more of 'masaledar' BPO stories as 'few' don't like regular stuff and seek 'masala' . ;)

Indian road scenario

This post would have happened earlier had I been to Auto Expo last year and my internet had not sucked big time. Anyways, better late than never.
Nano revolutionized the concept of small cars in India, though the changes took place many years ago with Hyundai debuting in Indian car market to challenge monopoly of Maruti Suzuki which it successfully did. It also encouraged many others to exploit the market of small car segments and thus came beautiful small sized cars and with time the competition has grown fierce which in turn had encouraged bizarre but really awesome designs.
I was flipping through a newspaper today and I saw a whole section dedicated to new cars in the small car segment and I must say designs were eye catching, leave aside performance.
i10,Spark,Fusion,Swift,Xing,Alto(modified version),Getz and many many many to come soon and listed.
Take my words you'll certainly fall for them.
I remember the time when the road was only about Maruti,it still is but with reduced proportion. Now there are many different designs floating around and this is not restricted to the small segment.Look at the SUVs coming up revamped and sexy looks they possess.
Travelling buses have been revamped too!! Roads are things of future to look for,for beauties will be there with,I hope, sweet sound of vrooming and not honking.

Olympics 2008,Beijing,China :)

This Olympics is unique in many ways, I don't know about the actual number of records that were broken during this sporting spree,I guess 49,but each day did involve breaking of a record. Be it day one ,the opening ceremony or any other day of sports events. Opening ceremony was viewed by 4 billion out of roughly 6 billion people around the globe,I was one of unlucky 'few' who missed the chance to witness the marvel. This itself is a record, the viewership and several audience around the globe seeing the telecast 'on demand' , downloading sports video from internet and each country has granted the right for the telacast of the event for the duration of 500 hours,if calculated this comes to about 21 days!!! Non stop viewing of sports mela .
Well that was about the ceremony, actual breaking of records came from the sports persons and I will start with India,3 medals in Olympics'08 . Congratulations India!! for the best ever performance in an Olympics. Many 'records' were broken.A GOLD by Mr. Abhinav Bindra was the first gold in the category of individual performance in Indian sports history. Boxing had never fetched a medal for us but this time it did, though hopes were really high for at least 2 more golds but we did not succeed . In wrestling too a medal was bagged by us. Chances are bright for future though.
Phelps with the phenomenal 8 Golds performance has left jaws-around-the-world dropped !!
Records broken to form new records,be it the medal count or timing.
Another show-stopper is Usain Bolt. Using the word 'bolt' with 'the Bolt' is like using dho diya with Dhoni ( I don't know what name they will come up with if I do something big,I guess it would be 'shake' but this is left for future to decide. At this moment my world is shaken). What a sprinter!!He has BOLTed 4 golds this Olympics breaking record of another legend Michael Johnson. Today's newspaper is full of articles of praise for Mr. Bolt .
God!! I could not see any of the events this Olympics barring one.

Last but not the least, record of number of Golds bagged by any country in an Olympics is broken. It is China and Chinese ruling the world. With 2 days to go it is sure that the count will hit a 50+ figure in Golds alone !!

Outta order

This post is here just because of a news i saw @ yahoo.com ,about Michael Phelps winning 8 golds this Olympics!! phenomenal!!
I had my class today at 9:00 am and I had read somewhere that today at 8:32 am Phelps will compete for his 8th gold medal."Watching the telecast would definitely make me late for the class" was the thought but the charisma of the swimmer was such that I had decided to watch the legend in action.I had never seen him swimming earlier.Race started bit late than scheduled time,I was not ready to settle for anything less than watching the telecast.
There was the 'start' call and the relay started, the flexibility of swimmers was such that can put mongoose to shame. U.S. had initial lead and it continued till half the distance of second 100 meter when Japanese started dominating,Phelps was third person from the U.S. swimming team to jump and as soon as he started commentators had nothing to talk about but Phelps. That person is truly a legend. U.S. was again in lead all thanks to Phelps. The swimmer following him was even better and thus came a convincing and a world record victory for U.S. .Phelps became the first person in the world to bag 8 golds in a Olympics.
Clock was showing 8:55 am and class was about to start, again pressed against time,I had to be a careless driver and I reached class somehow at 9:10 am.Sir was not told about the class timings and thus he was 30 minutes late for the class.Class was over by 11,rather we asked for time out and did not return to the class.
There was a test @ TIME,it started at 12 and rest 2.5 hrs were about execution of the plans and strategies.I failed miserably, though start seemed perfect.I was lost in midway and never realized the mistake of giving extra time in DI section. It was while marking answers I realized that I had not done enough questions in Quant too!! Verbal was hopeless and DI had already consumed so much time that I did not want to switch to it.10 mins wasted in figuring out which section to do!!"Give your answer sheets" was the call and test ended.

Yesterday, for the first time,as far as I remember,I had a chance to witness the Rakshbandhan for this time I had my sisters(cousins) to tie Rakhi.Everything was new to me,the decorated thali, the diya and etc etc.Till this time either mum used to tie the rakhi or broda used to do it.he he.But it was good!!
Yesterday evening was good too..................
Good night

Ad mums,selling water purifier!!

These are some of the mums that are selling water purifiers to us.Madam Sharmila Tagore is also a part of this team of endorsing mums, but her image with the brand was not available with me.
Why did they choose mums to endorse??
The trend did not surprise me.The trend??The trend of picking up mums.Ohhh!!I guess I'm too liberal with the word 'mum'.I must use actresses.Hmm,so idea of picking up an actress also a celebrity mum was a brainchild of brand 'A'.Seeing this idea to be a hit(I assume)among customers, others adopted it and chose 'models'(ha ha) that suited their budget.
Better idea would have been to bring in some doctors that can testify their claims and certification from some recognised firm. But this is just an idea.
But 'caring' mums for brand is not a bad idea either!!Then why this post?? I don't know,I had to kill time, don't kill yours by reading this. But since you have read this, please leave a comment. :)

Taste of Rain

Yesterday it rained heavily and ruined whatever plans I had.Till 1 pm the weather was usual but then as I was to leave the college around 4 pm there was thick cloud cover, blue sky soon turned grey in Noida.I was in conversation with Rahul and looked up to the sky.Time was already running out for I had to reach a place at 5 and clock was showing 4 and then these clouds above to add up to the trouble.I quickly reached out for my bike and started it,as I did that,a thought entered my head,I must be careful with my driving today and so I started off, cautiously??No,I don't think so.I had barely reached 50 mtrs from college,on a service lane a Cab came charging towards me.Red was the colour and it seemed like a huge ship and I lost my mind at moment and moved to the wrong side. That brought me in front of the cab.Brakes were applied by both the drivers, the car rather the ship came 'sailing'(skidding)towards me and the sound of cab skidding over gravel scared-shit-out-of-me.I continued to move on the opposite side and the cab moved in the same direction.By the time cab stopped it had already brushed with my bike and I was on the other side of the road.We shared the glance and I didn't utter a word,I knew the mistake was mine and I had nothing to say.As I was in hurry,I didn't waste time there, thanked God for the miraculous escape from the head on collision which definitely would have put me in a mortuary or bed rest for 2-3 months.I picked up my cousin from her flat and drove to my place,I was not in my mind I guess for I was wondering at every stoppage,"How did I reach here,I was there moments ago??" .
Jam was all around and soon the drizzling changed to a something quite like a rain.Routes were diverted to avoid jam and I had to take up another route and I was thus getting soaked, but I didn't care,I had to reach as early as possible.I was wishing, for the rain to stop throughout the way,but it didn't :( .By the time I reached I was carrying a liter of water.I was still waiting for it to stop, but it didn't, so I decided to call off the plan and that was it,fucking 'that was it' .
I later went to marketplace nearby and a raindrop fell on my lips, out of curiosity I decided to taste it.I justified my act by a thought that a rain drop is the purest form of water,it only gets impure by other stuff in the atmosphere.Since it had rained enough to bring down all the suspended impurities back to earth, the rain drop on my lips is bound to be pure.Taste was awesome!! and thus all the drops fallen on my lips reached my stomach :D .
I was looking at the street light from the shop and at the raindrops in the 'limelight' ,it was magical.
I had one very good news from the very great person and thus this rain did not seem that troubling as it seemed earlier.
Thank you God for saving me,in many ways.

Chinese maal

Olympics 2008 are being held in Beijing,China. And most of the controversies that are in air are predominantly about Olympics being "Chinese" in nature, nakli maal for that matter.
Yesterday there was the article in T.O.I. stating that the 'fire show' that was put up at the inauguration ceremony was,for the most part computer generated graphics and was prerecorded.I must say Chinese minds are at work.
Today there is another report that claims that the child artist that sang the song, again,at the inauguration ceremony was rather miming and actual singer was not showed to the crowd for her not so attractive appearance, huh. They have generated fake crowd to cover up empty seat to support their proclaimed sale of ticket. The act is justified by the officials there by saying that they are providing a neutral crowd that would cheer both the sides and this is in interest of games.ha ha,Chinese as they are, cunning and masters of duping.

India and Olympics

I'm happy today that India has at last won a gold medal after too many long years and since it comes from an individual performance it makes me feel prouder.Till date today's performance by Abhinav Bindra is the best in the individual category by India.
I'm happy over the growing trend in the medal tally,if not in count,in 'value'.In 2000, a bronze was one by Karnam Malleshwari then in 2004 a silver by Maj. Rajvardhan Singh Rathore and now a gold!! As Bindra puts it , "My medal will boost sports in India" . I hope this comes true and India wins more of such honors but going by the trend I do not foresee India bagging any more medals this Olympics or in other future event.I would be happy if they bag one or for that matter many."Aa toh gaya hi hai ek,ho gaya kaam, khush raho" seems to be the attitude prevalent among the sportspersons . I could be wrong and I would be happy to be wrong but the medal tallies support my assertion.
A lot is said about India not able to perform at the world stage and win any medals. It is not wrong if we face these charges like,a country of a billion is content with a medal.Leave aside the number of medals won, people we send out to compete no way reflects the size of population they represent.Countries with the less than 1/4th of our population sends 4 times the size of our squad. Are we not able to produce sportsperson?? We are,but who will groom them?Sports authority?? No way,it is itself caught in the shackles of nepotism and group politics,I see no hope. These charges are not baseless for example take the case of Monica Devi,a weightlifter. She was first accused of doping charges by a fellow weightlifter and S.A.I. and I.O.A. had denied her participation this in Olympics.Medical examinations have now revealed that she did not take any prohibited drugs. Can't you sense a foul play?Who will care for the shattered dreams of the lady who comes from the modest background, fought her way to reach up to this mark ,only to be told that she can't compete in the Olympics. It SUCKS,it seriously SUCKS (I'm using this as a metaphor for my case,it SUCKS).
Now will she ever be so determined as she was for this Olympics?I doubt it.In a country that produces only handful of sportsperson loosing a player is like a unrecoverable loss.
With the hope that situation will improve,I abruptly end this post.Congratulations India for winning a gold, that puts it in the tally in <20th position, for same day,at least.

The moral of the story

I have thought of writing this content long back, but as they say, things happen when it is supposed to. I recently saw a blog on Akhil's page regarding a road accident that claimed 3 human lives :( and content of this article is no different from the blog previously mentioned.

The day was 28th July 2006,time was 8:55 am,I was hurrying through the way to reach the college on time.It was beginning of my 3rd semester and it was 3rd day of college.I was about 50 mtrs away from my college gate ,I noticed group of people gathering around at a crossing.I didn't care as I thought it might be the case of some vehicle brushing with another and thus this bunch of fun seekers were around. When I reached the college gate and was filling up the entry register a guard came to me and said, "Koi Jaypee ka ladka gira hua hai udhar, accident hua hai" .I asked him why didn't he go.He replied, "Main chala jaunga toh gate pe kaun rahega??".I cursed him at the same moment and rushed to the accident spot, a senior came along too.On reaching there, seeing me in college dress and the victim was wearing the same dress, the crowd, rather fucking bystanders, gave the way. What I saw next was the most fearful sight I ever had till that day,a sophomore,to whom I waved previous day after the classes were over for the day was lying down on the ground, with face turned into a size of disc and blood all around the body and spread on road.It took around 10 secs for me realize what I am seeing!! I knelt down to check for the pulses, there were none, the boy was dead.It was for the first time I was touching any dead body. One person from the crowd asked,"Nabz chal rahi hai??".I said, "Nahi". I just looked around to try get over the numbness and seek some help, everything seemed to move in a slow motion as shown in the movie.I felt as if I was half sunk in the road,my feet were shaking,I could hardly walk,to try stopping some vehicle to get the victim to Fortis hospital which was just a kilometer away.I tried stopping autorickshaws ,cars, tractors, rickshaws but none stopped for help.In the mean time a lady stepped in and also tried to get some help. Finally a car stopped and he agreed to take the boy to the hospital.Next task was to lift the body and place it in the car.I still curse myself for the fucking thought that had entered my head, that "my clothes will be stained by blood"..fucking mean!!
But thank God I lifted him,I held him from the shoulders and senior held him from the legs and we put him in the car.Soon our college officials reached the spot and traffic police too!! fucking punctual. Before the car left I went to get the bag of the deceased, the notebook and the lunch box(crushed) were thrown out of the bag beacuse of the impact.Seeing the tiffin brought tears in my eyes thinking of the mother who had prepared lunch for her kid,who is no more to have it.The notebook had Data structure notes from the lecture delivered previous day.
I put everything in the bag and handed it over to sir and took a long walk to the academic block. My shirt, tie and trousers all had blood stains so I went to clean them up before entering into the class.I was hoping that boy would have survived, but alas he didn't. The news spread through the college in 15 mins and thus all the lectures for the day were canceled . The family had already lost the father and with the loss of the only son, they survived with mother and a daughter...sigh.

I do not think I need to tell the moral of this sad but true story ::"Drive Safely"

jeer OR cheer

What else would be the better content for 50th post than this, about my college JIITU ..Ohh,my mistake,it is about my University (jaypee institute of information technology UNIVERSITY) as I was once told by Vice Chancellor, over a letter wherein I mentioned 'college' in place of 'university'.He said "Abhi tak tumhara JIIT college hi rahega,University kaun likhega " and then scribbled over college and wrote University on top :) .
Hmmm this blog or rather the great picture following these lines is my tribute to this university that has transformed this 'punk' (me) to a 'pandit/pundit'.This college has helped me in becoming a complete jackass in a period of 3 years and few months..and with few more months to go search for new abyss is on during which black (veiled mind) is more likely to turn blank.Anyways enough of shit written.Enjoy this pic,CLICK to EnLarge , true story about jiitU ;) .Courtesy -HT City.

I must mention, data presented here might be a bit wrong.Number of phones confiscated by Mr. Pathak is well above 50 and no wonder the counter might have hit 3 digit figure. Victims(confiscated phones and their owners) of this phone 'snatching' spree includes me too.Since I have lost my only chance of getting confiscated phone back..God save the Phone :D .
This article is more or less present in everyone's page, belonging to JIIT . ha ha

Sleepless night continues

It has been 4 days,I am not able to sleep and this has started taking its toll, the reason for insomnia is not known, probably too worried about the outcome of the 'First task' ever .
Whatever,I'm happy that I did my job.
I have been feeling the lack of energy for the whole day,an evening walk today did help a lot. While walking I found this hanging makdee

Anyways,I wish to have a good nap today because I've done my part..hmm,partially I guess.I had so many plans to send it in a different way but ..lets hope for the best.
