Taste of Rain

Yesterday it rained heavily and ruined whatever plans I had.Till 1 pm the weather was usual but then as I was to leave the college around 4 pm there was thick cloud cover, blue sky soon turned grey in Noida.I was in conversation with Rahul and looked up to the sky.Time was already running out for I had to reach a place at 5 and clock was showing 4 and then these clouds above to add up to the trouble.I quickly reached out for my bike and started it,as I did that,a thought entered my head,I must be careful with my driving today and so I started off, cautiously??No,I don't think so.I had barely reached 50 mtrs from college,on a service lane a Cab came charging towards me.Red was the colour and it seemed like a huge ship and I lost my mind at moment and moved to the wrong side. That brought me in front of the cab.Brakes were applied by both the drivers, the car rather the ship came 'sailing'(skidding)towards me and the sound of cab skidding over gravel scared-shit-out-of-me.I continued to move on the opposite side and the cab moved in the same direction.By the time cab stopped it had already brushed with my bike and I was on the other side of the road.We shared the glance and I didn't utter a word,I knew the mistake was mine and I had nothing to say.As I was in hurry,I didn't waste time there, thanked God for the miraculous escape from the head on collision which definitely would have put me in a mortuary or bed rest for 2-3 months.I picked up my cousin from her flat and drove to my place,I was not in my mind I guess for I was wondering at every stoppage,"How did I reach here,I was there moments ago??" .
Jam was all around and soon the drizzling changed to a something quite like a rain.Routes were diverted to avoid jam and I had to take up another route and I was thus getting soaked, but I didn't care,I had to reach as early as possible.I was wishing, for the rain to stop throughout the way,but it didn't :( .By the time I reached I was carrying a liter of water.I was still waiting for it to stop, but it didn't, so I decided to call off the plan and that was it,fucking 'that was it' .
I later went to marketplace nearby and a raindrop fell on my lips, out of curiosity I decided to taste it.I justified my act by a thought that a rain drop is the purest form of water,it only gets impure by other stuff in the atmosphere.Since it had rained enough to bring down all the suspended impurities back to earth, the rain drop on my lips is bound to be pure.Taste was awesome!! and thus all the drops fallen on my lips reached my stomach :D .
I was looking at the street light from the shop and at the raindrops in the 'limelight' ,it was magical.
I had one very good news from the very great person and thus this rain did not seem that troubling as it seemed earlier.
Thank you God for saving me,in many ways.

Chinese maal

Olympics 2008 are being held in Beijing,China. And most of the controversies that are in air are predominantly about Olympics being "Chinese" in nature, nakli maal for that matter.
Yesterday there was the article in T.O.I. stating that the 'fire show' that was put up at the inauguration ceremony was,for the most part computer generated graphics and was prerecorded.I must say Chinese minds are at work.
Today there is another report that claims that the child artist that sang the song, again,at the inauguration ceremony was rather miming and actual singer was not showed to the crowd for her not so attractive appearance, huh. They have generated fake crowd to cover up empty seat to support their proclaimed sale of ticket. The act is justified by the officials there by saying that they are providing a neutral crowd that would cheer both the sides and this is in interest of games.ha ha,Chinese as they are, cunning and masters of duping.

India and Olympics

I'm happy today that India has at last won a gold medal after too many long years and since it comes from an individual performance it makes me feel prouder.Till date today's performance by Abhinav Bindra is the best in the individual category by India.
I'm happy over the growing trend in the medal tally,if not in count,in 'value'.In 2000, a bronze was one by Karnam Malleshwari then in 2004 a silver by Maj. Rajvardhan Singh Rathore and now a gold!! As Bindra puts it , "My medal will boost sports in India" . I hope this comes true and India wins more of such honors but going by the trend I do not foresee India bagging any more medals this Olympics or in other future event.I would be happy if they bag one or for that matter many."Aa toh gaya hi hai ek,ho gaya kaam, khush raho" seems to be the attitude prevalent among the sportspersons . I could be wrong and I would be happy to be wrong but the medal tallies support my assertion.
A lot is said about India not able to perform at the world stage and win any medals. It is not wrong if we face these charges like,a country of a billion is content with a medal.Leave aside the number of medals won, people we send out to compete no way reflects the size of population they represent.Countries with the less than 1/4th of our population sends 4 times the size of our squad. Are we not able to produce sportsperson?? We are,but who will groom them?Sports authority?? No way,it is itself caught in the shackles of nepotism and group politics,I see no hope. These charges are not baseless for example take the case of Monica Devi,a weightlifter. She was first accused of doping charges by a fellow weightlifter and S.A.I. and I.O.A. had denied her participation this in Olympics.Medical examinations have now revealed that she did not take any prohibited drugs. Can't you sense a foul play?Who will care for the shattered dreams of the lady who comes from the modest background, fought her way to reach up to this mark ,only to be told that she can't compete in the Olympics. It SUCKS,it seriously SUCKS (I'm using this as a metaphor for my case,it SUCKS).
Now will she ever be so determined as she was for this Olympics?I doubt it.In a country that produces only handful of sportsperson loosing a player is like a unrecoverable loss.
With the hope that situation will improve,I abruptly end this post.Congratulations India for winning a gold, that puts it in the tally in <20th position, for same day,at least.

The moral of the story

I have thought of writing this content long back, but as they say, things happen when it is supposed to. I recently saw a blog on Akhil's page regarding a road accident that claimed 3 human lives :( and content of this article is no different from the blog previously mentioned.

The day was 28th July 2006,time was 8:55 am,I was hurrying through the way to reach the college on time.It was beginning of my 3rd semester and it was 3rd day of college.I was about 50 mtrs away from my college gate ,I noticed group of people gathering around at a crossing.I didn't care as I thought it might be the case of some vehicle brushing with another and thus this bunch of fun seekers were around. When I reached the college gate and was filling up the entry register a guard came to me and said, "Koi Jaypee ka ladka gira hua hai udhar, accident hua hai" .I asked him why didn't he go.He replied, "Main chala jaunga toh gate pe kaun rahega??".I cursed him at the same moment and rushed to the accident spot, a senior came along too.On reaching there, seeing me in college dress and the victim was wearing the same dress, the crowd, rather fucking bystanders, gave the way. What I saw next was the most fearful sight I ever had till that day,a sophomore,to whom I waved previous day after the classes were over for the day was lying down on the ground, with face turned into a size of disc and blood all around the body and spread on road.It took around 10 secs for me realize what I am seeing!! I knelt down to check for the pulses, there were none, the boy was dead.It was for the first time I was touching any dead body. One person from the crowd asked,"Nabz chal rahi hai??".I said, "Nahi". I just looked around to try get over the numbness and seek some help, everything seemed to move in a slow motion as shown in the movie.I felt as if I was half sunk in the road,my feet were shaking,I could hardly walk,to try stopping some vehicle to get the victim to Fortis hospital which was just a kilometer away.I tried stopping autorickshaws ,cars, tractors, rickshaws but none stopped for help.In the mean time a lady stepped in and also tried to get some help. Finally a car stopped and he agreed to take the boy to the hospital.Next task was to lift the body and place it in the car.I still curse myself for the fucking thought that had entered my head, that "my clothes will be stained by blood"..fucking mean!!
But thank God I lifted him,I held him from the shoulders and senior held him from the legs and we put him in the car.Soon our college officials reached the spot and traffic police too!! fucking punctual. Before the car left I went to get the bag of the deceased, the notebook and the lunch box(crushed) were thrown out of the bag beacuse of the impact.Seeing the tiffin brought tears in my eyes thinking of the mother who had prepared lunch for her kid,who is no more to have it.The notebook had Data structure notes from the lecture delivered previous day.
I put everything in the bag and handed it over to sir and took a long walk to the academic block. My shirt, tie and trousers all had blood stains so I went to clean them up before entering into the class.I was hoping that boy would have survived, but alas he didn't. The news spread through the college in 15 mins and thus all the lectures for the day were canceled . The family had already lost the father and with the loss of the only son, they survived with mother and a daughter...sigh.

I do not think I need to tell the moral of this sad but true story ::"Drive Safely"

jeer OR cheer

What else would be the better content for 50th post than this, about my college JIITU ..Ohh,my mistake,it is about my University (jaypee institute of information technology UNIVERSITY) as I was once told by Vice Chancellor, over a letter wherein I mentioned 'college' in place of 'university'.He said "Abhi tak tumhara JIIT college hi rahega,University kaun likhega " and then scribbled over college and wrote University on top :) .
Hmmm this blog or rather the great picture following these lines is my tribute to this university that has transformed this 'punk' (me) to a 'pandit/pundit'.This college has helped me in becoming a complete jackass in a period of 3 years and few months..and with few more months to go search for new abyss is on during which black (veiled mind) is more likely to turn blank.Anyways enough of shit written.Enjoy this pic,CLICK to EnLarge , true story about jiitU ;) .Courtesy -HT City.

I must mention, data presented here might be a bit wrong.Number of phones confiscated by Mr. Pathak is well above 50 and no wonder the counter might have hit 3 digit figure. Victims(confiscated phones and their owners) of this phone 'snatching' spree includes me too.Since I have lost my only chance of getting confiscated phone back..God save the Phone :D .
This article is more or less present in everyone's page, belonging to JIIT . ha ha

Sleepless night continues

It has been 4 days,I am not able to sleep and this has started taking its toll, the reason for insomnia is not known, probably too worried about the outcome of the 'First task' ever .
Whatever,I'm happy that I did my job.
I have been feeling the lack of energy for the whole day,an evening walk today did help a lot. While walking I found this hanging makdee

Anyways,I wish to have a good nap today because I've done my part..hmm,partially I guess.I had so many plans to send it in a different way but ..lets hope for the best.
